Welcome to Dotson Park in Danby, NY
The public is welcome to engage in quiet and low-impact recreational activities such as walking, hiking, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and disc golf. Please stay on marked trails, where they exist, to minimize disturbance of native plants and wildlife.
Activities that are strictly PROHIBITED in Dotson Park include:
Littering and dumping (Carry-in, Carry-out)
Use of motorized vehicles
Hunting, Animal trapping
Camping
Vandalism or theft of park property
Activities that are NOT generally allowed, but MAY have limited exceptions or be permitted with explicit Danby Community Park Association permission, include:
Visitation by large organized groups
(e.g. races, picnics, tournaments)Bonfires
Clearing
Building of a structure
Dogs must always be kept in full control by their owners and must not be allowed to chase wildlife or intimidate other visitors. Owners must clean up after their dogs.
Always strive to have as little impact on the land as possible; learn about and practice Leave No Trace principles; and be respectful of the land, native plants and animals, and other people.
